"This technology reduced the hazard associated with the baseline technology (oxygen/acetylene cutting torches), including the ability to use the oxy-gasoline torch in confined spaces."

Safety and Survival Training LLC, a New Jersey-based rescue training company, hosted a two day train the trainer during the first week in July.  “The men absorbed the material quickly and were hungry for more,” Brian Heft of Petrogen noted.  Safety and Survival Training LLC offers a variety of courses on fire/rescue and USAR-related equipment and techniques.  Brian also said, “The relaxed, professional and enthusiastic attitudes of the S & ST instructors made the training one of the easiest and most enjoyable I have been a part of.  Coupled with their technical proficiency, I know their services will continue to be sought after.”  Safety and Survival Training is an authorized Petrogen trainer.  If you would like to contact them directly to organize a training seminar, their contact information is:  phone (609) 685-0194, e-mail safetyandsurvival@verizon.net.  You can also see them on the web at www.safetyandsurvivaltraining.com.

Petrogen now carries the CE Mark for our customers in the European Union.

  Our new 7-inch
Breach Torch is now available.  It has been well-received by our customers.

We have recently moved operations to a new facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Here in the heartland of America we are in a key position to support our customers from coast to coast.

The newest addition to our product line is the
Search and Rescue System (SAR). This system was designed to be compact, rugged, stackable and ready to roll at a moment's notice.

We are planning to come on line with a new metal mesh box to house the Petrogen System.  It will be powder coated.  It's designed to be durable, stackable and a convenient way to store the Petrogen Heavy Rescue and Standard Package units.

Petrogen recently conducted several training sessions for Colorado fire departments at our Colorado Springs factory.  We plan to make factory training an on-going process, and we encourage anyone wanting factory training to contact us to reserve a block of time.

FEMA now includes the Petrogen Oxy-Gasoline Cutting Technology in its Equipment Cache List.

The U.S. Mining Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) now allows Petrogen to be used in all mines, including underground coal mines. Petrogen is safer than acetylene and is a better alternative than any compressed gas. Petrogen was invited by MSHA to demonstrate at six U.S. mines in 2002 . Other MSHA-sanctioned technologies were included in the demos., which were held to give mines better alternatives to air-arc cutting. Air-arc's excessive noise is resulting in substantial hearing loss over years of exposure. MSHA seeks to reduce noise levels in mines while offering them alternative technologies that can get the work done. Because Petrogen cuts more types of difficult steel than acetylene, our cutting system was offered to the mines by MSHA as a technology that could do much of the air arc work at reduced noise levels.

After Sept. 11, 2001, Petrogen was deployed to the World Trade Center "pile" and to the Pentagon for rescue/clean-up work. Since that time, over 700 fire departments and Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) teams across the U.S. have replaced their acetylene rigs with Petrogen units.
