"Another FY97 FEMP success story is the oxygasoline cutting torch. The oxygasoline torch was an improvement over the more commonly used oxyacetylene torch, giving a much cleaner and quicker cut. These improvements yielded both time and labor savings in addition to economic benefits."
- Dept. of Energy Decommissioning & Dismantlement Annual Report

Petrogen offers a variety of options for hose lengths, torch lengths and head angles.  We can fine-tune your order to fit your precise cutting needs.

Handheld torches are available in 5 lengths: 15, 20, 27, 36 and 48 inches. Special lengths can be furnished in 5, 6 and 7 feet. (We recently produced 13-ft. torches for use in nuclear demolition.) Tube walls are 1/16th-inch thick. Head, centerbody, butt and cutting lever are forgings.

Torch head angles of 90, 75 and 180 degrees are available on any torch length.

All tips are constructed of brass cores and copper shells. They are available in 9 sizes of cutting tips, 2 sizes of scrapping tips, 2 sizes of heating tips, and 1 rail tip used with our rail-cutting guide (next page).
Our 18-inch semi-automatic machine torch has a 1-3/8 inch barrel, 32 pitch rack, and rack & pinion torch holder. The torch holder ends in a 3/8-inch threaded shaft which is accommodated by most track and pantograph machines. We also offer 2 pipe cutting torches with smooth barrels, with barrel lengths of 4 inches and 8 inches. An 18-inch rail cutting torch is designed to mount on our rail-cutting guide. Torch Part No.1003 with No.4557 torch holder.
The quick disconnect is an option which permits the gasoline hose to be disconnected without any fuel spillage. It is a useful item for those locations where operating standards require the setup to be taken apart each night for storage. If the fuel hose must be stored separately, then you need one quick disconnect at each end of the hose.
Gasoline Quick Disconnect, Part No. 3013. Oxygen Quick Disconnect, Part No. 3119.
We offer a single stage oxygen regulator made by Uniweld. It is an industrial service, high-flow model. For cutting steel the single stage regulator is superior to and cheaper than the 2-stage model. Safety is not compromised. Part No. 3130.

The Petrogen Hand Cart is built to survive abusive field conditions. Construction is of powder-coated heavy gage steel. Two steel hoops firmly hold the Petrogen fuel tank. The oxygen bottle is carried in front. A sturdy tool box includes a rack for extra tips, and a steel scabbard is built in to hold the torch. The cart weighs 48 lbs. Part No. 4560.
An oxygen backflash arrestor comes with each Petrogen Standard Package, but additional ones can be purchased. An oxygen backflash can occur in any oxy-fuel torch when fuel enters the oxygen line while the torch is idle and the operator forgets to purge the oxygen line before igniting the torch. Purging the oxygen line is a required procedure for all torches, and urged by all torch manufacturers. Nevertheless, accidents can occur and a backflash arrestor is a useful device that will increase your safety margin. (No backflash arrestor is ever required on the Petrogen fuel line.) Part No. 3102.
Our optional air pressure regulator can replace the hand pump and keep the tank pressurized at any desired level, up to 100 psi. The regulator requires a source of compressed air, most conveniently a 5-gallon air carry tank. Air pressure regulator is Part No. 2349.
A 5-gallon air carry tank can serve as a source of compressed air for keeping the Petrogen fuel tank automatically pressurized (with air pressure regulator shown above). Fill to 100 psi at any gasoline station. Part No. 2365.
The underwater cutting torch is 14 inches long with an over-center cutting lever. Well suited for one-hand operation, the torch is equipped with a 3-piece tip shroud which keeps the tip warm enough to ensure complete vaporization of the gasoline fuel. The torch can be ignited underwater with the Petrogen-designed underwater igniter. Torch Part No. 1001 with No. 5020 shroud.
