Between victory and defeat there are many obstacles waiting to be overcome. Petrogen torch systems are relentless, rugged, and ready to serve for decades. Petrogen uses the cutting power of gasoline and now JP-8 to triumph over other oxy-fuel cutting systems. By using JP-8, the most readily avaliable fuel for military and NATO units, Petrogen provides the safest, most powerful, and easily portable solution for cutting steel. Our cutting system eliminates the complicated and expensive acquisition of acetylene fuel. Instead of shipping acetylene, propane, or propylene into theater, Petrogen tanks can be shipped empty and filled with JP-8 on site.
Petrogen units are much more portable than acetylene units. Our standard 2.5-gallon gasoline filled tank weighs only 30 pounds and is equivalent to a 250-cubic foot acetylene tank weighing 180 pounds. Ease and speed of mobility provide a key advantage in a tactical environment.
Weighing in at only 45 lbs., our Portable Cutting System (PCS) features a completely self-contained backpack unit making it ideal for tactical applications. The PCS comes with a 1.5 quart fuel tank, good for 1-1/2 hours of cutting time. It also cuts 1-inch steel for a continuous 15 minutes and 4 inch steel for 5 minutes with the on-board 23-cu. ft. oxygen tank.
Petrogen’s tactical Breach Torch features a 7-inch torch and 8 cu. ft. oxygen bottle in a convenient shoulder harness. This unit is ideal for jobs where cutting power, speed, and maneuverability are paramount in completing a successful mission. When failure is not an option, Petrogen is the only solution.
Petrogen Complete Package 100 Series is the workhorse of our fleet. It relentlessly pursues whatever steel stands in its way with a 20-inch torch, 2.5 gallon fuel tank, 20 ft. gasoline hose, 25-ft. oxygen host, spare parts to last two years in the field, tool kit, training DVD and reference materials. Longer hoses and torches can be substituted for standard sizes.
Petrogen units are safer than Acetylene. Unlike acetylene tanks, a Petrogen tank is not a fire hazard if dropped, knocked on its side or caught in a fire. In the Petrogen system, gasoline is kept liquid and inert from the fuel tank to the tip of the torch, so no fuel line backlash is possible. Many redundant safety features allow for safe fuel use including guarding against fuel leaks or ruptures. Petrogen is more forgiving than traditional oxy-fuel cutting systems operated by new users, which is one reason why fire/rescue personnel prefer Petrogen for use by non-burners. All our units are guaranteed for life against defects in materials and workmanship.
Our products have been approved for operations in some of the most dangerous work environments possible. Petrogen has been extensively tested by the U.S. Department of Energy and is highly recommended over acetylene for dismantlement of nuclear sites. Whether you need to operate above ground, underground, or underwater…Petrogen is the solution to your steel cutting problems.
